Life

Life has been crazy....so, of course, I am behind on my blogging. On July 15th, Kyle was laid off from his job, and I feel like I've been in auto-pilot mode ever since. He had been with the company for 10 years, and although we knew things within the building industry weren't going well, we were still surprised. It has been a busy month of polishing the resume, writing cover letters, job hunting....and more job hunting. It has been stressful, to say the least. Kyle has had some promising interviews and I have faith that things will work out.....it may just be a bumpy ride to get there!!

The kids have enjoyed their summer. I still can't believe that school starts next week. I am not ready! Mia will be in 2nd grade. Caden will be starting Kindergarten! It makes me sad just thinking about it. We have decided to homeschool Colton. He will be in 6th grade (how crazy is that!!!). The middle school that we are zoned for is not one that we felt would be a good environment for him. I appealed to the superintendent to get him in to the middle school where most of his peers go (and, in our opinion, a better school to begin with), but we were still denied. So, we prayed about it and feel really good about the decision to homeschool. He is really excited, and so am I.

My baby turns one year old today. It seems like he was just born!! This past year has gone by way too fast and it makes me sad. I can't tell you how grateful I am that Micah is a part of our family. He is THE SWEETEST little guy. He brings constant smiles, laughter and complete joy to our home. I cannot imagine our life without him.
